GBA & DataGuard Program

The Green Button Alliance and the Smart Energy Consumer Collaborative have announced they are the first member-based organizations to join the DataGuard Energy Data Privacy Partnership Program. DataGuard is a voluntary program that provides high-level principles around the treatment, retention and disposal of customer data and offers a framework for establishing practices that safeguard the access, use and sharing of customer data, which are described in the Voluntary Code of Conduct (VCC) . Other groups with an interest in customer privacy are invited to join the program or learn more . The GBA and the SECC will co-host a webinar about the DataGuard Partnership Program, registration will open here, soon.

Green Button Ecosystem Benefits Highlighted at Industry Events
During a keynote presentation at the Digital Utilities of the Future conference held in Toronto, Canada on 17-18 May, London Hydro CIO and Chairman of the Green Button Alliance, Syed Mir, (photo inset), educated on how a Green Button ecosystem and standardized Green Button energy data empowers digital customers with choice and privacy while enabling utilities with a flexible means to provide new data-driven programs.
Mir was also a featured speaker at GBA member the Advanced Energy Centre's (AEC) event "Harnessing the Potential of Energy Data" held on 23 May at the AutoDesk Toronto Technology Centre where he discussed utility social responsibility, cross-sector collaboration, London Hydro's Green Button roll-out, and how utilities are enabling custom
ers to save energy and costs.

GBA member ZOME Energy Networks, Inc. continues to receive accolades with the release of its new ColorPower cloud-based, IoT-communicating platform designed to optimize DERs and synchronize them with energy distribution to help utilities achieve sustainable energy programs and enable apartment building owners to “bid” their buildings for DR payments.
The June issue of Insights Success magazine selected ZOME as one of the “ 10 Best-in-Class Smart Grid Tech Solution Providers for 2018 ”. Also in June, ZOME was featured on the cover of Energy CIO Insights and was named a "Top 10 vendor".
