European Initiatives

To-date, there appears to be no Green Button regulatory inclusion in Europe; however, the European Commission (EC) is developing ground rules for the usage-data sharing of utilities in EU Member States.  In one of the latest efforts, the EC is defining interoperability requirements and non-discriminatory and transparent procedures for access to metering and consumption data by defining the reference model for metering and consumption data access to which all protocols and methods would adhere; without regard to the chosen technologies.
