Korean Initiatives

The Republic of Korea (South Korea) has been interested in the Green Button standards for many years, with the Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute (KERI) and the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) being early GBA Members, during the translation of the Energy Services Provider Interface (ESPI) standard — the core of Green Button — into the Korean language Those government organizations are no-longer GBA members but Korean companies working with Green Button implementations are still welcomed to join the Green Button Alliance.

Through an agreement between the Korea Smart Grid Association (KSGA) and the North American Energy Standards Board (NAESB), the version 3.3 Energy Services Provider Interface (ESPI) standard (the core of Green Button) was converted into the Korean language
